How Drawdown Works on the Helm Challenge

Learn how daily drawdown and trailing drawdown are calculated on Helm accounts.

Daily Drawdown

Daily drawdown is calculated using the starting day’s balance or equity, whichever is higher, at 5 PM EST.

This means your daily drawdown limit is based on the higher value between your balance and equity at the start of the trading day.

Challenge Stage Daily Drawdown

During the challenge stage, the daily drawdown limit is 4%.

Funded Stage Daily Drawdown

During the funded stage, the daily drawdown limit is 3%.

Max Drawdown

The max drawdown is trailing.

This means it trails with the account’s equity high-water mark.

Trailing Drawdown Lock

The max trailing drawdown locks at the initial account balance once the account reaches +8% during the challenge and +6% during the funded stage.
